TRAVEL TIPS

Gay and Lesbian Travel

Attitudes toward same-sex couples are very tolerant in Manhattan and most other parts of the city. Hell's Kitchen, Chelsea, and Greenwich Village are some of the most prominently gay neighborhoods, but gays and lesbians feel at home almost everywhere. One of the world's oldest and largest gay-pride parades takes place on 5th Avenue the last Sunday in June.

Publications

For listings of gay events and places, check out Next, which is online and also distributed in many gay bars throughout Manhattan. Time Out New York (www.timeout.com/newyork/lgbt) magazine offers a gay-friendly take on what's happening in the city.
